Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data MindTransit ("the app", "we") collects, how it is processed, and who it is shared with. MindTransit is developed by Andrii Bannikov, an individual developer, contactable at support@bannikov.app.

What MindTransit does

MindTransit lets you record a spoken thought. The app transcribes it, classifies it into a task or an idea, and delivers the result to the task manager you choose (Apple Reminders or Things 3).

Voice recordings

Your voice recording is transcribed entirely on your device, using Apple's on-device speech technology (WhisperKit). The audio file never leaves your device. It is automatically deleted from your device 3 days after it has been fully processed and delivered.

Transcribed text

The text of your transcription is sent to our server so it can be classified into a task or an idea. Classification is performed by a third-party AI service (see below). Our server does not store, log, or retain this text in any form — it is processed in memory for the duration of the request and discarded once a response is returned to your device.

Classified result

Depending on which task manager you selected during onboarding:

• Apple Reminders: the classified result is sent back to your device only, and written directly into your Reminders app via Apple's EventKit framework. It does not pass through any other third party.
• Things 3: the classified result (titles, subtasks, and dates — not the original recording or raw transcript) is delivered via an email sent to the address you provided during onboarding, using a third-party email delivery service.

Locally stored data

MindTransit keeps a history of your captured items and their transcriptions on your device (not on our servers) so you can review past entries. This data stays on your device and is removed if you delete the app.

Third-party services

• Anthropic — processes your transcribed text to classify it into tasks or ideas, and translates static in-app content. Anthropic never receives your voice recording, only the transcribed text. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Resend — an email delivery service, used only if you selected Things 3, to send your classified task content to your provided email address. See Resend's privacy policy.
• Railway — our backend hosting provider. Does not receive or store your transcribed text or classified content beyond the moment a request passes through it.
• Apple — processes your subscription and payment via the App Store. We do not see or store your payment information.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not use your data for advertising.
• We do not maintain a database of your transcriptions or classified content on our servers.
• We do not access your Reminders or Things 3 data beyond delivering the item you just created.

Your rights

You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app from your device. If you have questions, contact support@bannikov.app.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children's privacy

MindTransit is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
